Challenges
- Absence of Portals: Distribution partners, including brokers and agents, lacked self-service to submit customer information and communicate with underwriters.
- API Requirements from Partners: The existing core system lacked the API capabilities needed to integrate with third-party systems and distribution partners.
- Application Up Time: The carrier needed a cloud-native environment that stayed consistently available while supporting on-demand scaling, and required moving away from on-prem infrastructure to an elastic cloud platform.
- Manual Workflows: Paper-based processes resulted in lengthy turnaround times for policy issuance and inconsistent underwriting.
- Operational Bottlenecks: Manual processes for document generation and other routine tasks consumed significant team resources.
- New Product Launch: The existing technology infrastructure could not support the development and launch of new products.
